Life is journey that everyone feels they have a map for. Trouble is... the road keeps changing but the map doesn’t. The map doesn’t anticipate construction zones and detours and roads that get washed out or landslides blocking our way. We don’t always see things coming at us that cause us to re-evaluate the road we are taking, and sometimes the detours we have to take are roads that we may not have a map for. So we are "life pioneers". Blazing a trail and hoping we are going in the right direction. And eventually what we realize that we are creating our own map. Or maybe, what we realize is that we just can’t trust our maps so we throw them away and just watch where where we step. I mean really.... they didn’t really do us any good before or we wouldn’t be where we are now right? We learn to rely on something deeper than expectations and assumptions and dreams based on sentimentality or what the world tries to convince us we should be and how we should "travel". Something deeper that will not be defeated by changes that befall us. We reflect on where we have been and understand that if life never changed we’d be on that same journey down that same road that we felt was so right and gave us some sense of security and direction. We had all the points of interest all mapped out and all of the stop overs reserved that we expected to arrive at on the way to a destination that we imagined we would arrive at with all of our hopes and dreams intact and several photo albums filled with memories, instants in time that we captured to help us remember and relive our journey as we sit and drink our coffee or tea.
If any of this makes sense to you... could you please explain it to me? :)
